A small but mighty/enlightening model:

Some experts on mobility told me that the shift to electric vehicles (EV) is going to fail because not enough people buy them. I think that it is going to be an exponential development (tipping point, crossing the chasm) if we just do not doom it too early. So it just takes strategical, non-linear thinking and a little bit of patience.
The model by the way contains a number of insights from KNOW-WHY-Thinking as humans use cars to satisfy their need to feel development and integration (status, comfort, ...). That is why using trains will never be the alternative to cars. There might be other alternatives, like spending our money for gadgets that give us the same or an even better feeling of integration and development. And there is a chance that EVs for short ranges will be combined with train transportation for long distances.
The model contains a lot more, e.g. two rebound effects. Have a look at it...

What do you think?

Happy modeling
